STELLA, which has continued to challenge the pinnacle of spinning reels, has reached even greater heights with these three Infinity technologies.
The Anti-Twist Fin suppresses line trouble around the spool, while DURA Cross delivers smooth drag performance that lasts thanks to its outstanding wear resistance - functionality has been pursued down to the finest details.
The pride of the ultimate reel shines brilliantly in the angler's hands.

STELLA
Evolution Builds Upon Itself
Evolution is the history of innovation built upon inheritance.
Beyond it lies an endless future.
STELLA's journey never ends.
| Infinity Cross
Overwhelming Gear Durability Through Proven Design and Manufacturing

Advances in gear tooth design and manufacturing technology have increased the contact surface area between the drive gear and pinion gear.
This has successfully distributed the load on the gear tooth surface over a wider area.
It prevents concentrated damage, improving durability approximately 2x* compared to conventional designs.

| Infinity Loop
Dramatically Reduced Line Release Resistance for a Smooth Cast Feel

Beyond tight winding - "ultra" tight winding.
Internal structural advances have dramatically slowed the speed at which the spool oscillates.
Line is wound onto the spool in a dense, uniform manner, successfully achieving a dramatic reduction in line release resistance.
This delivers a smooth cast feel and effortless line feed.
| Infinity Drive
Powerful Retrieve That Keeps You in Control

The conventional X-SHIP structure that achieved smooth retrieval has evolved into an even more powerful design.
By supporting the main shaft - previously supported by the pinion gear - with a special low-friction bushing, sliding resistance has been greatly reduced.
Furthermore, special surface treatment and special processing applied to the main shaft itself have dramatically reduced rotational torque.
The reel has evolved to retrieve aggressively even under heavy load.
| Anti-Twist Fin
Line Trouble Suppression for More Comfortable Fishing

An elastic fin is positioned in close proximity to the line roller.
By suppressing line slack, this reduces the occurrence of line dropping below the spool and line being wound onto the spool while still twisted.
| DURA Cross
Outstanding Wear Resistance for Smooth and Reliable Drag Performance

The drag washer in a reel is a critical component that adjusts line tension and prevents line breaks.
SHIMANO's "DURA Cross" is a new drag washer made from a new material.
It achieves both smoother drag engagement and improved durability.
#SpinningReel #DURACross
Drag Performance Affects Your Catch Rate
The drag functions to release line gradually with appropriate resistance when a fish pulls on the line, preventing it from snapping under excessive tension.
If this function does not work correctly, the risk of line breakage increases.
Especially in small reels using light lines, drag performance affects the success rate of landing fish.
The drag washer is what maintains this drag performance.
However, prolonged use causes wear and degradation of performance.
Outstanding Wear Resistance for Smooth and Reliable Drag Performance

DURA Cross Fiber Structure Image
SHIMANO's "DURA Cross" is a drag washer made from a new material.
New fibers are woven perpendicularly to the fiber direction of conventional drag washers.
This has successfully increased wear resistance by more than 10x* while maintaining smooth drag performance.
Comparing the drag of models featuring DURA Cross versus those without makes the difference clear.
Under sustained use in demanding conditions, the drag washer in DURA Cross models shows virtually no wear, demonstrating dramatically improved durability compared to non-DURA Cross models.
Reels equipped with "DURA Cross" perform across a wide range of applications - from bass and trout fishing using light lines and light salt, to inshore and shore jigging where durability is essential and unexpected large fish may be encountered.

| New Shape AR-C Spool
Even More Trouble-Free, With Powerful Wear Resistance

The shape has been updated to be even more line-trouble-free while retaining the fundamental performance of the conventional AR-C spool.
By changing the shape and angle of the spool ring and drag knob side, line tangling on the drag knob side is significantly suppressed.
In addition, the spool ring adopts a Barrier Coat spool ring with powerful wear resistance treatment proven on the STELLA SW.
The smooth initial condition is maintained over time.
Dramatically Fewer Line Troubles Without Sacrificing Distance

It was previously believed that a "forward taper" spool was ideal for casting distance, while a "reverse taper" spool was better for preventing line tangles.
However, SHIMANO's "AR-C Spool" applies reverse taper only to the ring portion, combining the advantages of both - extending casting distance while also preventing line tangles.
This special shape produces a "line rectification effect," simultaneously achieving smooth line release and improved casting distance.
It also greatly reduces the occurrence of line trouble.
The "AR-C Spool," which accommodates all line materials including nylon, fluorocarbon, and PE, is lightened to the limit using SHIMANO's proprietary processing technology.

| HAGANE
The Goal: A Retrieve Feel That Never Changes

Robustness that can be relied upon even in demanding conditions.
A refined retrieve feel and reliable operability that stimulate the senses. And winding power that exceeds imagination.
By single-mindedly pursuing reels that anglers can truly use hard, this effort has given birth to HAGANE Gear and HAGANE Body, and has become SHIMANO's conviction.
All for the angler.

HAGANE - SHIMANO's Conviction

SHIMANO's reel design philosophy, aimed at a "retrieve feel that never changes."
That is "HAGANE."
Refining proprietary metalworking technology to the limit - starting with precision cold forging - SHIMANO pursues reels that only SHIMANO can make.
Backed by the HAGANE philosophy, SHIMANO's reels combine breathtaking smoothness and overwhelming strength, and have been loved by many anglers over the years.
Products that reveal their true value the more they are used are the embodiment of SHIMANO's unwavering resolve and commitment.
SHIMANO Technology Realizing the HAGANE Philosophy.

Supporting reel construction based on the "HAGANE" philosophy is SHIMANO's proprietary metalworking technology, cultivated over many years.
These include "HAGANE Gear," which forges gears with overwhelming strength and durability from tip to root for a smooth retrieve feel, and the high-rigidity "HAGANE Body," which suppresses twisting and flexing during retrieval, protects the interior of the reel from sudden impacts, and enables smooth reeling.
The Symbol of SHIMANO Metalworking Technology.
Precision Cold Forged "HAGANE Gear."

Unlike hot forging, SHIMANO's precision cold forging technology - "HAGANE Gear" - applies pressure to metal at room temperature to achieve superior precision and strength.
"HAGANE Gear" is completed by compressing a lump of metal with approximately 200 tons of force.
No cutting is performed on the tooth surface; instead, the technology creates high-precision gears in one press operation at micron-level precision - a technique unparalleled in the world.
The quality is truly worthy of being called "forged metal."
Forging a Lump of Metal Into a Precision Gear

- High Density: When the cross-section of a "HAGANE Gear" produced by precision cold forging is compared to a cast (die-cast) gear, the difference is clear.
In casting, where material is melted and poured into a mold, air bubbles and foreign matter tend to be mixed in, as shown by the black dots in the image.
In contrast, precision cold forging produces high crystal density with no voids.
This results in a tougher, more resilient gear.

- High Hardness: In precision cold forging, where no cutting (machine cutting) is applied to the gear tooth surface, the metal flow (flow of metallic structure) is not severed.
Gears in which the metal structure flows along the shape are highly resistant to impact and extremely unlikely to break.

- High Lubricity: Gears produced by cutting leave fine scratches and protrusions on the surface, which become the cause of localized fatigue.
However, "HAGANE Gear" has virtually no irregularities on the tooth surface, so even after repeated retrievals over many fishing trips, noise is unlikely to occur and a smooth retrieve feel is maintained.
Protecting Gears and Rotational Performance From Load and Impact.
High-Rigidity Metal "HAGANE Body."

The "HAGANE Body" uses high-rigidity metals such as aluminum and magnesium.
While pursuing the ultimate in weight reduction, it suppresses flexing, distortion, and twisting of the reel. This achieves smooth reeling with minimal power loss.
The high rigidity also protects the delicate gear meshing from impact and sustains retrieve feel.
The metal body, refined to perfection, possesses a dignified beauty.
SHIMANO's Conviction, Delivered to All Anglers

"HAGANE," as advocated by SHIMANO, is a design philosophy for creating reels that can be used seriously hard, equipping precise and advanced technology with toughness.
This effort produces highly durable gears ("HAGANE" Gear) and the high-rigidity body that firmly supports them ("HAGANE" Body) - world-class strength and smoothness is the answer.
The true value of "HAGANE" becomes apparent the harder you use it. Entrusting a message of strength to "HAGANE," SHIMANO now delivers it to all anglers.
| Micro Module Gear II

Light and smooth.
A gem-like gear feel.
Micro Module Gear II, evolved through the latest gear tooth design and SHIMANO's unique manufacturing technology.
The design of each individual gear tooth has been reviewed from the ground up, pursuing the ideal tooth shape.
Noise reduction and improved smooth gear feel have also been achieved.
| X-SHIP
Synergy With X-SHIP for Even Easier Retrieval

"X-SHIP" is a gear system that, like Infinity Drive, optimizes the gear retrieval efficiency of the reel.
The rotational performance of the gears has been fundamentally reviewed, with a larger diameter drive gear, optimized placement of the pinion gear and drive gear, and the pinion gear supported at two points by bearings on both sides.
This achieves a firm gear mesh, enabling smooth reeling even under heavy load.
Combining "Infinity Drive" and "X-SHIP" creates a synergistic effect that makes retrieval even more effortless.
This effect can be particularly felt during battles with large fish or when using lures with high drag resistance.
| Silent Drive

Thorough attention to detail, creating a quiet sense of unity.
The basic design of the entire body and drive-related components have been reviewed one by one, thoroughly eliminating minute play, gaps, and wobble in components down to the finest detail.
Improvements cover a wide range of components including the drive gear, worm shaft, worm shaft pin, worm shaft gear, and slider gear.
Smooth rotational performance at a new level, along with a quiet retrieve feel, has been achieved.
| G Free Body

The sliding mechanism components for moving the spool back and forth are positioned at the upper part of the reel body, successfully bringing the center of gravity of the entire reel closer to the grip.
This improves the sense of integration with the rod, leading to reduced casting fatigue and improved rod operability.
| Long Stroke Spool

Long Stroke Design Spool
By lengthening the width of the spool's line winding section, the reduction in line on the spool during the latter half of a cast can be suppressed, contributing to improved cast feel and casting distance.
| Rigid Support Drag

By supporting the spool with two bearings - on the main shaft and inside the spool - spool wobble is suppressed, delivering stable and smooth drag performance.
| S A-RB
Bearings That Resist Rust

"S A-RB" applies special anti-rust treatment to the bearings, dramatically improving the rust resistance of the metal surface.
In addition, the shield reduces the ingress of foreign matter such as sand.
#SpinningReel #BaitReel #SARB
The Role of Bearings in a Reel

A "bearing" is a component that enables a shaft to rotate smoothly within a machine, and is essential for improving reel performance.
It is also important for ease of casting and improved sensitivity during reeling.
However, when seawater, rain, sand, or salt enters the bearings, it causes rust, and the smoothness of the retrieve is lost.
To prevent this, bearings in reels are often made of stainless materials or given special coatings to resist rust.
Dramatically Improved Rust Resistance
SHIMANO's "S A-RB" creates a physical shield (protection) wall on the side of the bearing that physically protects the bearing balls, and applies special treatment (anti-rust treatment) to prevent rust.
This gives the metal surface resistance to rust and corrosion even when exposed to seawater.
As a result, the bearings last longer and comfortably support the angler's fishing life.
