DRD
DRD is a completely new drag mechanism that withstands repeated runs of large fish over long periods, preventing wear damage and seizure in high drag areas.
Instead of the carbon washers used in conventional drags, the DRD washer features a single metal plate equipped with 8 metal rollers.
It suppresses the decrease in drag force due to frictional heat, and its durability marks more than 5 times that of carbon washers (based on DAIWA's comparative tests).
It also contributes to the smoothness of the initial movement.
