| Technology


DRD (DRD14000 - 30000)
DRD is an entirely new drag mechanism designed to withstand the repeated, powerful runs of large fish over extended periods, preventing wear damage and seizure in high drag ranges.
Instead of the carbon washers used in conventional drag systems, the DRD washer features eight metal rollers mounted on a single metal plate.
This suppresses drag force reduction caused by friction heat and delivers durability more than five times that of carbon washers (*according to DAIWA comparison tests).
It also contributes to smoother drag startup performance.
*Standard equipment on DRD14000 and 18000 - 30000.
When using the DRD14000 spool, replacement with the SALTIGA DRD Radiation Knob (sold separately) is required.


ATD TOUGH (8000 - 14000)
ATD operates smoothly in response to a fish’s pull and continues to apply consistent drag pressure.
ATD TOUGH uses carbon washers to achieve high durability.
By pursuing smooth startup and tracking performance, anglers can focus on the fight without worrying about drag settings.


LC-ABS SW
Compared to LC-ABS, which optimizes the spool ring shape for smooth line release, LC-ABS SW adopts a two-stage tapered shape on the upper side of the spool winding area toward the spool ring.
This reduces friction with line released from deeper diameters, delivering a clean casting feel while further improving line release performance in the latter half of the cast.
Especially when using thick lines with large changes in winding diameter due to casting, it contributes to approximately a 2% increase in casting distance.
It supports anglers’ desire to cast farther.

| Precautions

*When installing the DRD14000 spool, purchase of the DRD Radiation Knob (sold separately) is required.
*The 30000 spool is exclusively for the 25 SALTIGA 30000.
It cannot be installed on the 25 SALTIGA 18000 - 25000.

Applying excessive line tension when winding line may cause the spool to deform.
Please avoid applying excessive line tension.
When winding PE line, we recommend a line tension of approximately 1.5 kg.
When winding nylon line (including backing), we recommend a line tension of approximately 300 g and avoiding excessive tension.
