Reel: ABU Ambassadeur 5500D (780200)

This is a Microcast Spool for the Ambassadeur 5500 OLD.
It can be installed on the Old Ambassadeur 5500 and 5500D.
The Ambassadeur 5500 began production in 1975 and continued until 1980.
Early models were brown in color, changing to red from 1977.
Also, for only a short period in 1977, a champagne gold model was produced.
The Ambassadeur 5500D was produced only for a short period from 1977 to 1979.
Unlike the 5000D, it does not have a line alarm mechanism.

Please note that even among reels with the same name Ambassadeur 5500, this does not fit the Palming model, Ultracast model, C3, etc., so please be careful not to make a mistake.
Compatibility with the Simon Shimomura model is unconfirmed.




It fits reels with the spool shaft shape shown in the photo.
The photo has the cogwheel removed.
Remove the cogwheel and check the shape of the part that will be hidden.

Remove the cogwheel attached to the genuine spool and transplant it to the Microcast Spool.

If you thumb the spool using the spool rim, the anodizing may peel off due to friction.
Please thumb on the line-wound surface of the spool.
