A Closed-Face Reel Built for Modern Lure Fishing

An under-spin reel that can be used with standard spinning rods. With a maximum line retrieve of over 80cm per handle turn, it delivers comfortable performance across a wide variety of fishing scenes, including trout fishing, bass fishing, and saltwater lure fishing such as seabass.

Despite its traditional design, it features a hybrid mechanism that merges modern design philosophy with classic engineering principles. Packed with sufficient performance for the diverse evolution of today’s fishing scenes, it also accommodates the latest tackle setups such as PE line.

In 2026, the Underspin Casting Reel TU-01v+ Enters a New Domain

Launched in 2017, the TU-01 was born as a modern under-spin cast reel that combined traditional design with contemporary engineering and manufacturing technology, offering over 80cm of line retrieve per handle turn, trouble-free high-precision construction, PE line compatibility, and ample performance for the diverse evolution of today’s fishing scenes.

In 2026, the TU-01 incorporates a new structure and evolves into a new domain as the “TU-01v+”.


| Bearing Pickup Pin Rotor

The ceramic pickup pins have evolved into an IP-coated roller supported by 2 bearings. The roller has a V-groove for more stable line pickup and a smoother retrieve.
As before, PE line can be used.

* Lines differ in material, thickness and other specifications by brand. Not all lines are supported.


| Bearing Knob & Short Handle

A newly designed handle knob with bearings at the top and bottom is adopted. The handle arm and handle shaft are also shorter than on previous models. This reduces strain on the wrist during the retrieve and improves mass balance, for more sensitive and linear control. The handle nut uses an O-ring to lock the handle arm more firmly.


| O-Ring Compatible Rotor Nut

The rotor nut of the TU-01v+ is a newly made part with a dedicated groove for fitting an O-ring. The O-ring holds the rotor more securely.

| V Series With Shallow V-Spool as Standard

This series comes standard with the popular optional “Shallow V-Spool”. The V-shaped spool bottom reduces trouble such as line tangles, and widens the choice of usable lines by type and thickness. Line capacity is the same as the normal spool.

* The spool color differs by model. On the TU-01v+ (Dark Gray, Green/Gold), the spool is black.


| Notes

* Swapping the handle between left and right can be done easily with a flat-head screwdriver, but do so at your own risk.
* Perform maintenance at your own risk. After disassembly, warranty repair may not be available.
* The product has small scratches, slight dullness in the coating and other machining marks that occur in manufacturing.
* As this is a practical tool, anything other than major damage or a defect affecting reel performance is not treated as an initial defect, and no exchange is made.
