Item Description

Take on any lightning fish field in Japan with this one rod!

Trapa77B+ is a variable-length multi-piece rod that incorporates all the elements required for the lightning fish game.

It was jointly developed with OLD NORTH BUTT, a frog manufacturer, and finally reached completion after 5 years of testing.

The fields where the Thunderfish game is played vary widely.
In addition to the scale factor, the conditions change from moment to moment depending on the type of cover and growth conditions.

The Trapa 66/77B+ was completed after repeated testing at various fields in multiple regions to realize the concept of "a single rod that can be used in many different fields.

The two lengths and multi-piece design allow for easy portability, and above all, the power setting allows the rod to be used in a wide range of fishing conditions, from open water to heavy cover.
The lure is also highly balanced to reduce fatigue, which helps anglers maintain their concentration even under the toughest conditions.

Anglers are concerned about lifting power, hooking power, and breaking strength when using multi-piece rods for lightning fish, which are often used under heavy loads.
Trapa has thoroughly verified these factors, and in test fishing, we have killed a large number of large threadfin bream, and in breaking strength tests, we have achieved greater strength than conventional multi-piece rods.
While providing a sense of security no different from a one-piece rod, we have made it lightweight for a thunder fish rod.

The lightness that allows all-day use without stress, long casting performance in big fields, and easy handling in creeks, thanks to the introduction of the 2-in-1 system, are all made possible by the multi-piece rod.

Trapa77B suits big fields such as swamps and wild ponds.

It has the castability to cast various weights of frogs a long distance, the hooking stroke to firmly hook thick hooks, the power to attract large fish with a lot of algae, and the maneuverability that does not make you feel its length at a high level.

The blank, like a strong muscle, has the ability to follow the head shake in open and light cover to reduce the risk of fish breaking, while the blank can handle heavy cover without losing its power, so that it can handle lightweight frogs with the belly and heavy frogs with the belly and butt.
The powerful rebounding action of the blank also leads to a casting performance that allows anglers to cast a wide range of weights of frogs a long distance with ease.

The blank is not simply "hard" or "soft," but is full of power and has the specifications to handle basic hard situations in the lightning fish game.

Trapa77B+ is a multi-piece rod manufacturer's serious attempt to create a rod that can be used to catch lightning fish.

Trapa66B was developed to develop comfortable fishing at small points such as creeks.

In the field where short pitch flip casts are used to develop fine fishing like bass fishing, there is little need for a rod longer than 7 ft. when considering ease of handling and maneuverability, and the advantage of a short length blank is significant. We decided to use short length blanks for this project. This rod is useful in small fields such as creeks, in situations where take-back is limited, and in close-range fishing where you want to get the fish to bite with precise action.

The rod is so light and easy to handle that it is hard to believe that it is a lightning fish rod, allowing, for example, a speedy one-handed cast across the bank of a creek, or a subtle shake of the tip in increments of several centimeters, or delicate manipulation to create ripples on the surface of the water.

The rod has the hooking power and strength to handle high loads required in the thunderfish game, and we were able to create a new form of rod for thunderfish that has not been seen in the 7-ft range thunderfish rods.

The "OLD NORTH BUTT" brand was born out of a love for thunderfish.
The representative who loves thunderfish so much thought about thunderfish and its future, and a new frog was born.

Its name is BOTA.

The representative of "OLD NORTH BUTT" started to make a frog because he had a question about the shape of frogs for thunderfish after an experience of damaging a thunderfish's eye with an upward-pointing hook of a frog.

The hook is the point of contact with the Thunderfish.
We improved the direction of the hook and developed our own unique Thunderfish hook by repeatedly shaping, bending, and gaving the hook for easy hooking. We have arrived at a setting that allows the frog hook to penetrate the mouth of a Thunderfish without getting stuck in the lure even when the hook is facing downwards.

BOTA is a frog that has eliminated the elements that can cause fatal injuries to the thunderfish, which will always be a source of enjoyment for anglers.
It is a frog that we hope you will try.

Trapa77B+ has been thoroughly tested as a lightning fish rod, but it can be used for other types of fishing as well.
In actual fishing, we tested it on redfish, pirarucu, and big bait sea bass.
It is also easy to use for fishing for giant octopus.
It is ideal for fishing with thick lines, so please try using it for various types of fishing.

Impression

Thoughts on Trapa77B+

When spring arrives and the leaves of aquatic plants appear on the surface of the water, our season begins.

Thunderfish fishing is a special kind of fishing.
I challenge the target by imposing on myself the restrictions of using only hollow frogs and only on the surface of the water.
In this kind of fishing, I especially like the scenery of the waterside where the Thunderfish are located.
I think there are few places in the world where you can fish in such a green world surrounded by aquatic plants and sometimes you cannot even see the surface of the water.
In search of such a view, I repeatedly traveled north, south, east, and west using public transportation as well as my own car to go fishing.

There have been multi-piece rods that can be used "for" lightning fish fishing, but they are too soft in the tip because of the emphasis on versatility, and they are often difficult to use, especially in the cover game, which I like, because the frog gets stuck when it contacts plants and other objects. In cover games, which I like, the rod often got stuck when the frog made contact with vegetation, etc., and was difficult to use.
The Trapa, which was developed from the beginning as a special rod for thunderfish, has a taut tip and blank, which were rarely found in conventional multi-piece rods, and these problems have been cleared up, allowing anglers to play thunderfish game with frogs very comfortably.

Another interesting feature of the Trapa is that, as is the case with other Transcendence rods, it is variable in two lengths, 7.7 ft. and 6.6 ft.
This was proposed from the beginning of its development, in order to accommodate various situations in the thunderfish game, from small creeks to large lagoon-like fields.
The ability to use two different lengths of a single rod, depending on the situation, was unexpectedly convenient during our field tests.

The rod was named "Trapa" after the scientific name of a plant that is very familiar to us anglers.
I hope this rod will be a good companion for you as you travel from place to place, and that you will encounter beautiful, dull-eyed Thunderfish.

Versatile rod for thunderfish

It is not soft, but it has the ability to catch head shakes in open areas. It is not a heavy rod, but it has the power to hook long cast hooks and bring in large fish with a lot of algae.

Castability to carry a variety of frog weights from 18 g to 60 g and cast long.
*In the test, we used 18 g-45 g at 6'6" and 18 g-60 g at 7'7".

6'6" length for light and delicate casts in creeks, small areas, and at close range.

The 7'7" setting is ideal for long casting, hooking strokes, and strength in large fields.

Not only rods but also other tools that claim to be "versatile" are versatile and multi-purpose, but often lack a little in some areas and leave a lot to be desired. However, this is not the case at all with the Trapa, and you can feel how well the blank is designed for versatile performance in thunderfish rods.

Two types of grips, separate EVA and straight cork grips, have been released for the Trapa.

In recent years, I have been using low-profile reels instead of domestic round-type reels or Abu's Ambassadeur, and the current thunderfish rods on the market do not have the grip I am looking for, so I proposed the EVA type grip to boil down the feeling of using a low-profile reel.

By using the ACS-17 reel seat instead of the Fuji TCS-18 reel seat, which has been the standard for Thunderfish rods, I was able to achieve compact perching and a more nimble and delicate feel. We hope that anglers who use low-pro type reels will try this reel.

We hope that anglers who use low-pro type reels will try this reel.
We are confident that the more you experience different types of situations with this rod, the more confidence you will have in it.
