By supporting the pinion gear with a ball bearing, retrieve resistance during winding can be reduced.
In addition, for reels that have clutch operation catching or heavy disengagement, improved clutch operation can be expected.

| Installation Method



1) Using the Ambassadeur 2500C as an example, the installation method is explained.




2) Remove the handle unit and open the side cover.




3) Remove the retainer shaft that prevents the bushing from coming out.
(Models such as the 1600C that use a thumb bar clutch do not have a retainer shaft.)




4) Remove the bushing and spring, and replace the two parts shown above with Avail parts.




5) When assembling the Avail Pinion Bushing BB, align the caulking marks and the marking position as shown above.
If the caulking is strong on some reels, the Pinion Bushing BB may not insert smoothly.
* The same applies when removing it (hook a pointed rod on the marking and rotate).




6) Secure the Pinion Bushing BB with the retainer shaft removed in step 3).

7) Clean and lubricate the ball bearing as necessary.

8) Reassemble the reel to its original state to complete installation.


| Notes During Installation



In the following two cases, install the included O-ring on the pinion gear shaft.




(Case 1) When the top surface of the main gear is higher than the top surface of the pinion gear as shown above.
* There is a risk that the ball bearing of the Pinion Bushing BB may interfere with the main gear.






(Case 2) To avoid shallow engagement between the pinion gear and the spool shaft, install the O-ring on the pinion gear shaft.
When converting to a ball bearing, the pinion contact surface becomes larger than the Genuine part, so the bushing height is set lower than the Genuine part to avoid interference with the main gear.
* There are variations in the height of the Genuine bushing.
For reels that originally have a higher bushing height, installing the O-ring may result in heavier retrieve.
Please adjust according to your preference.
