This product is a screw-in type magnetic brake unit for Avail Spools.(Shimano) This type of brake unit allows
you to finely tune your brake setting to your particular liking, by simply turning in or out the screw.

| Installation Instructions |
To change out this brake unit, first, you must remove the palming cup entirely
from your reel.
We will now show you how to change out the brake unit on the pictured reel.(Scorpion
1001)
First, you must remove the handle and all parts associated. Including the star drag and all its washers.
Please use care not to lose any of these parts.
After you have finished the above step, your next step will be to remove the spool from your reel.After you have removed the spool
your next step will be to remove the handle side cover.To do so, simply unscrew the 4 screws firmly attaching the cover.
After removing those 4 screws, please make sure you are holding the reel with the cover facing upwards before removing. There are many small springs and parts they may get lost if you don't hold the reel in this recommended position. Please be careful.
After you have removed the cover, your next step will be to remove the E-ring and coil spring. (as show in the above photo)
After you have removed those parts, you may now remove the palming cup shaft and cover.
After you have removed those parts and the palming cup is free from your reel, your next step will be to attach the magnet
brake unit to the palming cap cover.(as shown in the above photo)
Next, please replace your spool.
After you have replaced the spool, your next step will be to re-assemble your reel. After you have re-assemble your reel, please turn the handle slowly to check and see if things are working properly. If the handle turn feels heavy?? Please open up the palming cup cover and screw in the brake unit a little more.This will most likely be the cause of that heaviness .
Finally,To adjust this brake unit, simply turning the screw in and out will greatly affect the braking performance. The closer to the spool the magnets are the stronger the braking power. Please set your desired braking by adjusting this distance.
